“My Sunshine” ~ Two Page Spread 9×12

My sweet daughter, Olivia, is such a bright sunshine baby, just had to use this great cut file from Paper Issues to feature this sweet photo!  This spread is in a 9×12 because that is the size of her personal album.  I have started individual albums for each of my kids to give to them when they turn 18 with layouts just about them.

On the first layout, I used a mixture of Vicki Boutin Glaze and a Fabercastell gelato to smudge a bright yellow color around the outside of the rays, then layered gold glitter paper behind it.  I stitched the center using DMC floss in a back stitch and a chain stitch to add texture.  Then, lots of splattering with Heidi Swapp gold Color Shine and a little umbrella from the Felicity Jane Brooke kit tucked into these sparkly white Thickers.

On the pocket page, I started by picking out cards from the FJ kit and then added watercolor to the flowers with that same Fabercastell gelato to tie the two pages together.  Then, simple embellishing around the page with punched butterflies and ephemera from the FJ kit.  I added a shaker pocket in the center with pieces from Speigelmom Scraps Peaches & Butterflies and Music to My Heart mixes as well as a few yellow sequins from a Hero Arts Butterfly Gardens.  Closed this pocket with my fuse tool and it’s done!

Overall, I’m very excited at how this lovely spread came out and happy that I ventured into the yellows (which is a color I don’t use terribly often).  Below is the process video for this layout:
