“Granny” ~ 12×12 Layout with a sketch

These photos of my husband’s Granny, who passed away a few years ago, were perfect for a memorial page. Another Youtube crafter and I traded sketches for a collaboration and here is the sketch she shared with me:

And here’s my take on this sketch, using Kiwi Lane templates:

I made sure to add in one of my Mixed Media DIY butterflies and added a pale gold Nuvo drops butterfly trail.

A cluster of tags between the photos is my favorite design element of this layout.  I added some sweet lace ribbon to the tags that added a softness and texture.

These gold foiled chipboard Thickers were perfect for this layout, then I added tiny gold Nuvo drops all around the page for accent.

Overall, the white space on this layout was really a challenge for me, but I love the final product!  Below is the process video for this layout:

I’d love for you to join me on my Youtube Channel, where I post process videos, DIY embellishment tutorials, and so much more crafty goodness!

  1. Hi, Laura! I am not on any social media but I use my oldest daughters facebook to look at some scrapbook sites. I saw your thoughts on the thumbs down. I think that is awful, too! You are definitely my FAVORITE scrapbooker to watch right now. I LOVE your laugh, your honesty about scrapbook products and your style. 🙂 I hope you continue to find joy in the process and continue to share your work!!

    1. Thank you so much, Mollie! I am so thankful for the many supportive people who responded to that post and you as well. It really gave me encouragement to ignore any negativity and focus on the positive! I greatly appreciate you taking the time to respond!
