“Sparkle” ~ Mixed Media Layout

Using my Citrus Twist Kit from November with the add-on Dear Lizzy kit as well, this layout just sort of happened!  I’ve been delving into mixed media lately, just experimenting really.  With this layout, I wanted to try misting behind a cut-file, so as you will see in the Youtube video at the end, I gave it a go!

This gorgeous rose cut file, combined with the dandelion style flowers that I fussy cut from the papers in the kit, really create an interesting juxtaposition.  Elegance and simplicity combined.

These lovely bright blue word stickers are from Maggie Holmes as are the star stickers.  These lovely star papers are from Dear Lizzy Stargazer. I really loved how well this add-on kit coordinated with the main kit.

At the bottom of the page, I made a small cluster of ribbon and paper to draw your eye throughout the entire layout.  Fussy cutting these flowers was a bit tedious, but they make a big impact on the page.  Really love how that came out!

This fabulous glittery title came from the Thickers set aptly named “Sparkle” and are a stunning teal color.  They really pop on this monochromatic layout.  I used the Broken China Tim Holtz Distress Spray to create the background color on my Bazzill Marshmallow cardstock (which is already prepared for mixed media).  Then did some splattering with both the Broken China and Heidi Swapp Colormist in gold.

Overall, I learned how these mists work and am very happy with the result!  Below is my process video for this layout.  I would love for you to subscribe to my Youtube channel and join  me on the scrappy adventures contained there!
