This layout was inspired by a cut file I found in Paige Evans’ page in the Silhouette store. Essentially, this cut file, pokes holes in the shape of hearts with 6 layers. When I searched for others that used this cut file, I only found layouts with one or two layers, so I decided to tackle all six! I am really happy with how it came out, but be warned…it took me three days to hand stitch this because the holes are so tiny!
After the stitching was done, I added punched shapes, sequins, resin butterflies, and just about anything else in this color scheme that was close to my desk. I splattered with Tim Holtz distress ink and added the title and stars from my Citrus Twist November Kit.
These layered flowers came from my embellishment tray (an Iris organizer that I store scraps in) and the enamel dots from my stash. I did end up fixing the crooked one after taking photos. I layered my photo with this brilliant blue tissue paper in two layers so that it had a choppy look and softened the lines of the stitching.
Overall, this layout was a labor of love! It took many hours of hand stitching, then a quick assembly and it was finished! Love the texture the chain stitch adds and thrilled with the results!
