“Adventure” ~ Mixed Media 12×12 Layout

As a challenge to myself, I decided to tackle a Mixed Media layout using the Citrus Twist Kit from November.  I used Faber-Castell gelatos and mixed in modeling paste to create the bright neon pink color, then spread it across a stencil in two places on my page.  Using Colorshine mists to create splatters all around those two stenciled images was a lot of fun, but very messy!  I did have to cover up some of the craziness on the top right side.

I matted the focal image twice and then created a cluster of flowers from my DIY ephemera that sits on my desk.  This small “Inhale the Future” quote is from the Turn the Page ephemera pack accompanying the October Citrus Twist kit and made for a nice touch of rose-gold.

I painted this title with a combination of pale gold acrylic paint and pale gold Nuvo Drops.  This was an add-on to the Citrus Twist Kit and is a part of the Dear Lizzy line.

This cluster to the top left of the photo included two punched hearts from scraps, a wood veneer tiny heart, and a “Shine Bright” gold word sticker.

The cluster on the top right side of the page was centered around the stenciled image and then grew as I tried to contain some of the larger splatters.  The wood veneer and cork pieces came from my stash and the gold ephemera is from the kit.  The blue ribbon is what the Citrus Twist kits come wrapped in and I end up using every last bit of it on my layouts!

Here is this process in action:

Let me know what you think of this layout in the comments below or in my Facebook Group!  I would love some feedback on this layout, it was a big departure from my paper only typical scrapbooking style.  I also have a Youtube channel filled with process videos and DIY tutorials.
