This is the second time I’ve scrapped this first photo, but the larger 5×7 version will be the cover page for the annual album. This is a family picture taken by a church friend in 2012 and only has three of my kids because it’s before the twins joined us! I used my October Citrus Twist kit for these two layouts and knew this Turn the Page floral paper was perfect for these photos! I used a couple of Kiwi Lane border templates for the design element on the left side.
The flower cluster is from the Turn the Page ephemera pack and I used the blue ribbon wrapped around the packaging of the kit as a base for the photo to ground it on the page. I added a white doily under the photo and used the chipboard thickers from the Citrus Twist kit as well. To finish off this cluster, I added enamel dots to the centers of the flowers.
This lovely butterfly embellishment is made from tissue paper and punched cardstock. I have a tutorial on this DIY embellishment on my Youtube Channel if you’re interested in trying these yourself! It’s a great way to use up scraps too.
For the second half of this two-page layout, I chose to do a Pocketless Pages style, using 3×4 pocket cards made from the kit papers! I really liked the frames that came in the kit, so I used one on the picture of Joseph egg hunting. I used both a stamp from the kit to make the “Nearly Perfect” sentiment and a stamp from my stash to add the “You make my heart flutter” sentiment. The scalloped pieces under two of the photos came from the packaging in the kit!
This cute little tag was in the Turn the Page ephemera pack, as was this little bunny. I figured Easter was the perfect time to use this little bunny ephemera piece! I added some puffy hearts and lace ribbon to finish it off!
This 3×4 card is made from paper exclusive to the Citrus Twist kit and I layered punched patterned paper on top to create a DIY embellishment. I punched the scalloped circle from the Turn the Page ephemera packaging. That’s a great way to use it up and include more of the colors from the kit into your layouts, stretching your kit!
This Pocketless Pages style is so much fun to do! I have a process video for this page of the layout and have shared it below if you’d like to see how I created it:
Overall, I LOVE how this spread came out! It was a lot of fun to play with these bright and cheery papers, especially that gorgeous floral! I am very impressed with the Citrus Twist kits so far and am excited to see what is included in future kits.
As always, I would love to hear your thoughts on my layouts! Feel free to share your comments below or in my Facebook group. I also have a Youtube channel where I share process videos and DIY tutorials.
