This picture is from 2011 and is of my wonderful parents. My Dad passed at the end of 2015, so I’m finding myself drawn to scrapping any pictures of him for our albums. It’s both therapeutic and reassuring that his memory is preserved for my children. I used the Felicity Jane October Kit called Mila for this layout, but added a bit from my stash as well. The frame is a Bazzill Mulberry cardstock and I thought it complemented the kit’s papers beautifully.
This beautiful cluster of chipboard flowers is from the kit and the “Love You” sticker is from Maggie Holmes’ Carousel collection. I used the black ribbon that the kit came wrapped in as a base for the picture and the white scalloped piece below the picture was from the kit packaging. I love Felicity Jane’s packaging and use it as much as possible in my layouts!
This beautiful butterfly embellishment is handmade from the tissue paper that came with the kit and layered with punched butterflies and pearls. I had to add a swirly little butterfly trail after it and really think that it helped to tie it to the flower cluster below.
Overall, I think this layout has an elegant feel, which is exactly what I hoped to create. This will be the last layout in my 2011 album and thought it really needed to make a statement. Below is the process video for this layout:
