“Happy” 30th Birthday Layout

I very rarely scrapbook pictures of myself, but every year I have to do a birthday layout!  This one was from my 30th birthday and it was a blast!  I was thoroughly spoiled by my family and it made for some fabulous pictures.  These pictures were taken by my brother, who is a fantastic hobby photographer!

I used the Felicity Jane October kit called Mila and used my new favorite Pocketless Page style.  This simply means that I’ve used the Project Life style without the special (and expensive!) page protectors.  I’ve simply added them to a 12×12 piece of paper.  I love this style for two reasons, economically cheaper and more freedom to use 3-D embellishments.

This sweet tissue paper butterfly was created using the packaging from the Felicity Jane kit.  I do this frequently to stretch my kits and add a bit of creativity to my layouts.  I especially liked adding the butterfly trails behind the two butterflies.

These banners were part of the kit, but the bottom one was a branding strip that I doubled, taped together and cut into the banner shape.  The stamp on this photo also came with the kit!

I am in love with these chipboard ephemera pieces!  I know that I will be using those up first thing on the layouts I make using this kit.  They are just stunning and perfectly coordinate with the papers!  The journaling strip is framed with a small piece of branding strip from the kit as well.

Overall, this was a fun and quick layout to put together, though I moved the elements around A LOT before making a final decision and gluing them down.  If you’d like to see the process video, I’ve attached it below!  Feel free to join me on Youtube for more.
